Who can use the skating frames?
We have frames available for all ages, these cost $7.50 with a $5 bond included that gets returned when you bring the frame back to skate hire. – Please note there are a limited amount of frames and they are sold on a first come first serve basis, we cannot reserve these for you.
Can we go skating at any time?
We have specific times for public skating as the rinks are also used for Figure Skating, Ice Hockey, Speed Skating, Curling and other events.

Can we hire skates?
Yes. We also have ‘platinum’ skate hire for an extra $4.50, which have better support and superior comfort.
How long before a session should we turn up?
We start giving out skates around 10 minutes before the start of the session, so turning up a little bit early is a good idea to avoid the lines.
Do spectators pay?
At red light we have restrictions on capacity, meaning spectators are required to pay general admission to enter the facility. When we do not have capacity restrictions, parent or guardian spectators are free of charge.
How cold is it inside?
The temperature varies depending on the weather outside. It is approximately 5 degrees inside. Warm clothing is essential. Also don’t forget to bring your socks!
Will my bag be safe?
We strongly advise using the lockers and NOT leaving bags, wallets, mobile phones lying around on seats. We accept no responsibility for lost or stolen items. Lockers at Avondale and Botany are coin operated and cost $3 for 3 hours or $5 for 5 hours. These will fit a medium size bag and some shoes.
How old do children have to be to skate?
We advise that children must be 3 years and over to come skating. If your child is 6yrs or under they are required to wear a helmet, you can either bring your own bike helmet or we do have helmets free to use, as well as some gloves for their little hands!!
Can I bring my own food and beverages?
No. We have a snack bar and a café on site, so we DO NOT allow any other food or drink to be brought on to the premises.
Do you give group discounts?
Yes, we give discounts for groups of 15 or more people. Please check the group bookings page for prices.
What clothing is recommended?
While skating will normally warm you up it is advised that you bring warm clothing. Long sleeved tops and pants are recommended. Comfortable clothes that you can move freely in are ideal- and don’t forget, if you fall over you may get wet depending on the ice condition! Always wear socks for warmth and comfort while you are skating. We also recommend that small children wear gloves to keep their hands nice and warm. Scarves and beanies are optional.
Do I need any safety equipment?
While ice skating is a safe and fun activity, Paradice recommends that our guests use helmets while they are skating for their protection against any accident that may occur, Please Note: 6 and under are required to wear a helmet, these are free to use otherwise you are encouraged to bring your own.
